This section captures the national media coverage that followed an unprecedented moment in live television. During severe weather coverage, a tornado struck our Orlando TV station while we were on the air. We stayed live as the storm hit the building and reached the studios.

The broadcast went viral worldwide, earning two Emmy Awards in 2025 and coverage from People Magazine, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

That moment led to an invitation to guest host the season premiere of Discovery Channel’s In the Eye of the Storm, placing the event in the context of a month of extreme weather across the country.
